UNITED WAY OF WHATCOM COUNTY
"A game changer"
For over 65 years, United Way of Whatcom County in Bellingham, WA has championed solutions for their community’s most pressing issues. The organization promotes financial stability by funding a collaborative network of local nonprofits working to provide basic needs, improve economic mobility, and break the cycle of poverty. In short, United Way helps individuals and families get back on their feet and stay there.
United Way of Whatcom County’s President & CEO Kristi Birkeland initially heard about YPTC via word of mouth. After the departure of their longtime Finance Manager, they needed immediate help to keep their finances running smoothly as well as long-term help to streamline and improve financial reporting and systems. Kristi expresses appreciation for their YPTC associate, Jennifer President, “Even though we have never met in person, Jennifer feels like a member of our staff. She has been an extremely valuable resource to our organization throughout our financial transition.”
Jennifer helped the organization migrate from an old accounting platform to QuickBooks Online, which was a game changer, “She also simplified our monthly financials, making them clearer and more user-friendly for our staff and Board of Directors.” Kristi continues… “Jennifer is so responsive, I sometimes forget we’re not her only client!”
Kristi appreciates the varying levels of expertise and the team approach to problem solving, “If my representative doesn’t have a quick answer, she can bring additional YPTC team members into the conversation… I would recommend YPTC to any organization who needs assistance with financial transitions and/or process streamlining.”
