Technology Use and Data Security at YPTC
YPTC is committed to thoughtful, responsible use of technologies that enhance our work. The following FAQs explain the safeguards, standards, and practices we use to manage risk while embracing innovation in our work to strengthen and support nonprofits.
At YPTC, protecting your information is a top priority. Because we typically work within your systems, you maintain control of most of your data. Where we require your data to support our work, we only store what is needed, and secure it with strong technology controls, including strict access limitations based on need-to-know.
Our Information Security Policy is aligned with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Standard on information security management system requirements. We follow strict industry standards, including the AICPA Trust Services Criteria (SOC2 and SOC3) to ensure our systems and processes are secure and regularly verified.
Our commitment means you can trust that your data is handled with care and in full compliance with leading industry practices. By maintaining SOC2/SOC3 attestations, YPTC demonstrates a continuing and evolving commitment to providing robust security and provides reliable assurance that our security program is functioning as intended.

As a human-centric, tech-forward organization, YPTC is continuously exploring new technologies to support our clients and optimize our internal operations. That certainly includes AI, which offers an increasingly broad range of use cases, but also poses a wide array of risks.
We use AI responsibly. That means using it securely, judiciously, and in alignment with our organizational values and with our mission to build stronger nonprofits. Specifically:
- We use only enterprise grade tools that are configured to meet our high standards for data privacy.
- We train our staff to understand how AI works and why human review remains an essential component of any AI solution.
- We have an internal department dedicated to AI solutions and training, which supports staff internally, implements use cases, and stays current on emerging AI opportunities for the nonprofit and financial management sectors.
Additionally, we've been sharing what we learn from our AI journey by hosting webinars and presenting AI-focused sessions at professional conferences. Check out our resource, How AI is Changing Automation, and our related webinar where we address a wide range of topics from core technology concepts to social and environmental impacts.
