"Knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to work with"

Established in 1985, the PADRE Foundation in Orange, California has been dedicated to improving the lives of children and families affected by Type 1 diabetes. The organization’s mission is to empower, educate and inspire individuals and families by fostering a supportive and inclusive community where everyone can find resources, guidance, and connections they need to succeed. The PADRE Foundation provides continuous education, builds community and advocates for the needs of children!

PADRE Foundation Director, Mary Mailman, was connected to YPTC through a board member. With an interest in achieving clarity with financial statements, and YPTC’s thorough explanation of services and ability to answers PADRE’s questions, Mary decided to pursue an engagement.

YPTC helped PADRE move from a cash to accrual basis, while explaining what that means for the organization. YPTC has also helped in other ways, including saving time and money. Mary says, “The implementation of the budget into QuickBooks also eliminated many questions as I can see immediately where we are according to budget. This also frees up much of my time when planning a large-scale event.” She continues, “Getting the financials organized in QuickBooks has helped with completing our taxes also. I was able to save money and time with streamlining this process.”

Mary expresses her gratitude for YPTC’s way of working. “The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional to work with. Their availability is wonderful as it is very easy to get questions answered and they offer interesting webinars during these difficult times.”

In particular, she mentions her experience with YPTC Associate Kerri Knight, “She is skilled in her position. I like that if she does not know the answer, she finds out and always emails me to follow up. She is on time, professional and I especially appreciate how she explains the processes, so I understand. I am very comfortable reaching out to her and am enjoying getting to know her as a business associate and friend.”
