Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley
"Clear, transparent and orderly"

Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley is the charitable branch of the Diocese of Brownsville. The organization provides assistance to the poor and most vulnerable populations in our community and is part of the larger family of Catholic Charities USA and Caritas Internacionalis.
Sister Norma Pimentel, Executive Director of Catholic Charities RGV learned about YPTC in 2023, when she met Eric Fraint (YPTC’s founder)’s wife. “It came out in the conversation what her husband did, and how the organization has remote controllers that could oversee the finances for small nonprofits. This caught my attention because it was a concept that fit right in with where we were as an agency. We were able to meet with the team, learn more about how this would work, and before we knew it, we were in business!”
The organization had struggled with previous turnover and needed help to reconstruct and re-establish their finances to move forward properly. “We were struggling particularly because we use a church management software called Shelby, and to our surprise YPTC had some experience with it! It’s not an easy software, but they were able to tackle it and learn it well,” Sr. Norma says.
Sister Norma expresses her gratitude for YPTC Manager Patricia Bueso, “We have a very close relationship, and she has the patience and clarity to help us while professionally addressing things in a very nice way.” Also highlighted is YPTC Associate Vivien Chang, “[She] is dynamite, and her mind is a powerhouse. She figures things out and is very much into numbers and finding solutions.” She also mentions YPTC Staff Accountant Brian Wouters, “He provides more of the day-to-day supervision for our in-house bookkeeper, and he’s been very good at meeting with her and making her feel comfortable.”
She closes with, “YPTC was able to help get our finances clear, transparent, and orderly. They’ve completed that task amazingly, so I feel confident and at ease when we deal with so many different forms of funding, especially federal funds that need to be very carefully accounted for. They set it up in a way that we can simply understand.”
