Resources for Nonprofits Affected by the Spokane-Area Wildfires
Posted On: August 11, 2026
Like much of the nation, Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) has been following news of the devastating wildfires in the Spokane area. Our thoughts are with the people and communities affected. YPTC knows that many nonprofits—some of which have also been impacted by the fires—are eager to offer support by providing shelter, food, counseling, and other services.
YPTC has compiled a short list of grants available for these nonprofits, as well as for affected individuals. This is a developing situation, and additional resources are likely to be announced in the coming days and weeks. YPTC will provide updates as appropriate.
- The Innovia Foundation has already activated a dedicated Spokane Complex Wildfire Response Fund, making it the most immediate local opportunity.
- United Ways of the Pacific Northwest has announced a wildfire disaster recovery fund.
- The City of Spokane has created a new fund to support individuals and families affected by the wildfires. Funds will be used to meet immediate needs and support recovery efforts. It is not yet clear whether nonprofit organizations can apply for these funds.
- The American Red Cross is operating an evacuation center at Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Anyone affected may stop at a shelter for a meal, phone charging or other support. Pets are welcome and parking is free.
- The University of Washington has published a Spokane-area resource guide with current evacuation information, shelter and animal resources, air quality and health guidance, insurance and recovery information, and emotional support resources.
At YPTC, our mission is to help as many nonprofits as possible grow stronger. Pointing you to funding and resources like these is just one of the many ways we can offer support. If you have been impacted by the Spokane wildfires and have questions, or if there’s a way we can help, please reach out. We are thinking of you and hoping you are safe.
