This session is designed to provide a crash course in nonprofit financial management and budgeting for financial leaders new to nonprofit accounting, new executive directors, board members, and nonprofit professionals looking for a refresher in key accounting concepts.

This presentation will:

  1. Review basic nonprofit financial terminology and concepts
  2. Review nonprofit financial statements and reporting
  3. Explore nonprofit governance and financial best practices
  4. Introduce and define different types of budgets
  5. Provide an overview of the budget process
  6. Share the importance of using the budget as a management tool

Bridging the Gap Between Development and Finance

  2. Share common reporting differences between development and finance departments
  3. Identify software solutions that support collaboration between departments
  4. Provide tips for building collaborative relationships between development and finance staff.
