Moving in the Spirit
"Unbiased review of financial health"

Moving in the Spirit is an award-winning creative youth development program based in Atlanta, Georgia. The organization uses the discipline of dance to help children and teens develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills they need to thrive.
Shalondra Henry, Executive Director, recalls a meeting discussing financials and development in which one of their newer board members connected her with an accounting firm that gave a high recommendation to explore YPTC. From there, YPTC did an in-depth assessment of Moving in the Spirit’s accounting and finance department, “As a new ED without a finance background, I was looking for a trusted partner to help with navigating and strengthening our accounting and finance functions and reporting. I have been very pleased with the quality of work and expertise that I have received from our YPTC consultants.”
She expresses appreciation that if a question cannot be answered by her YPTC accountants, there is an entire network of colleagues with expertise to draw upon and come to a solution.
Shalondra calls out their YPTC team members: Darcy Harper and Adecia Ludeman, “They both are remarkable – not only are they incredible professionals, but they are amazing humans who appreciate and connect to our mission. In addition to this, they have a sense of humor that makes it enjoyable to be around them. These are all things that I appreciate in the people that I work with.” She continues, “Adecia works with us day to day and has provided a needed rhythm to our AP/AR process with recommendations that are helpful and non-judgmental. Darcy brings a high level of support and guidance that has been instrumental in working with my board of directors and is very patient with the growth phase that we are in – both from a staff and board perspective.”
“I would absolutely recommend YPTC to a nonprofit organization that is in need of a trusted partner with finance expertise or seeking an unbiased review of their organization’s financial health.”
