"I am also excited about the opportunities in front of me...."

When I joined YPTC, my first few months felt almost unreal. I kept asking myself, and even my family, “Is this place real? Does an organization like this exist?”. That feeling really hit me during my first in-person staff meeting. I walked nervously, surrounded by new faces, and an executive kicked off the session by thanking all of us, not just for the work we do, but for allowing YPTC to partner with us and our families.  

At that moment, I realized I had joined a place that genuinely values people as whole humans. Whatever “family” looks like for each of us, YPTC welcomes them, supports them, and creates an environment where we all get to be our best selves.  

When I think about my career, I’ve always evaluated opportunities through five core pillars: fairness, opportunity, purpose, whole self, and work & life. YPTC is the first organization I’ve experienced that meets and exceeds all five. I came here seeking purpose and the proper flow between work and life and instead found so much more. 

Today, I get to bring all the tools, experience, and knowledge I’ve gained over the last 15 years to help nonprofits do incredibly hard and important work. My job is to give them financial clarity so they can stay focused on the mission. That impact is meaningful to me.  

What I value just as much are the relationships, both with my clients and my fellow associates. I’m encouraged to be part of my local community, whether through volunteer activities or attending conferences. YPTC doesn’t just support that, but it celebrates it.  

I am also excited about the opportunities in front of me. I’m part of a rotational program where I dive into data, help clients with system conversations, and rethink reporting structures.  

Honestly, if nothing about my role changes for the next 15 years, I’d be happy. I get to listen, guide, and support people every day, and that’s fun for me.
